Wedding in Amsterdam with Vietnamese tradition
Amsterdam was the perfect setting for this very special photo reportage, a love story where two cultures meet and naturally blend together. She is of Vietnamese origin; he is Dutch.
During the session, the bride wore several traditional Vietnamese dresses, each one rich in symbolism and meaning. The most iconic is a garment deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture, known for its elegance, clean lines, and strong cultural value. Historically, the áo dài has been a symbol of femininity, respect, and tradition, and in weddings it is often seen in vibrant colors such as red, a shade associated with prosperity, good luck, and happiness in marriage.
The groom, Dutch, brought a sober and elegant style to the session, reflecting European tradition. The combination of both cultures resulted in an authentic and well-balanced multicultural wedding reportage.
As a wedding photographer, working on this kind of reportage is a true privilege, allowing me to tell real stories filled with identity and emotion.
Amsterdam, as a wedding destination, offers the perfect backdrop, creating a fascinating visual contrast with its canals, historic architecture, and the city’s soft, natural light.
